We were created for relationship with God. And that relationship has been broken by our sin for, "all have sinned and fall short of the glory of God," the Bible tells us in the book of Romans (6:32). The penalty for our sin "is death, but the free gift of God is eternal life in Christ Jesus our Lord (Romans 6:23).
We may be familiar with John 3:16, but it is amazing in its truth. "For God so loved the world, that He gave His one and only Son, that whoever believes in Him will not perish, but have eternal life." There it is - the Creator of the universe, including earth and everything in it, actually loves us so much that He was willing to give His life so that we could be with Him forever instead of separated from Him forever!
When we invite Jesus into our lives as Lord and Savior, He will lead us and bless us as He saves us from the eternal consequences of sin. That is why it's called Good News - it is indeed good!
Jesus tells us, "He who believes in me has eternal life" (John 6:47). Tell Him you want to turn from your sin (even one who has lived a "good" life is part of the "all" who have sinned) and put your faith in Him. He descended from Heaven, became fully man as well as being fully God, was born of a virgin, lived a perfect and sinless life in our place, died for our sins, arose from the dead, ascended into Heaven, and will someday return to establish His eternal kingdom.
We loves meeting with people to explore this fascinating topic. "Life is tough and if we aren't going through it with Jesus, it's even tougher. We want people to get to know Jesus better, no matter where they're beginning from - if they don't know Him at all or if they have had a relationship with Him for years there is always room to grow.
"If you're interested in what we have to say, we can tell you in one word: 'Nothing!' But if you're interested in what God has to say to people, then come and explore discipleship and grow with us."
